About Terrie Spieker
With seven years of teaching experience under her belt, educator Terrie Spieker has devoted her professional life to education. Upon her college graduation, Terrie Spieker, a former Sales Representative for Qwest Communications, embarked on her career as a teacher for the Littleton Public School system. In her role, Terrie Spieker established a reputation as a fair, helpful classroom leader. Believing the success of her students depended on a solid foundation of exceptional classroom management, Terrie Spieker maintained a stable environment with clear expectations and procedures. Implementing a flexible teaching structure, Terrie Spieker used a variety of assessment techniques, including individual projects, one-on-one oral tests, quizzes, and classroom discussion. Convinced teaching should be fun, Terrie Spieker employed unusual techniques, such as brownie making, to instruct her students on measurements, as well as taught phonemic awareness and science in ways that captured students’ attention.
In 2008, Terrie Spieker left her position with Littleton Public Schools to focus on earning her Master’s degree. Studying Education and Human Development at the University of Colorado Denver, Terrie Spieker hopes to continue her career in teaching with a firmer grasp on how to teach the English language.
In her downtime, Terrie Spieker can often be found helping the homeless through her position as a volunteer for Samaritan House. Terrie Spieker also enjoys camping, hiking, skiing, traveling, playing sports, and being with her family and friends.
Terrie Spieker is currently a resident of Colorado.
